Our Clinical Pharmacists

New Vision now has two clinical pharmacists, Colleen Cameron and Brett Barrett, to help optimize patients' medications. The clinical pharmacists collaborate with all team members involved in a patient's “circle of care” to help ensure the best outcomes from medications with the fewest adverse events.

Colleen and Brett have expertise in identifying and solving problems concerning prescription medications and non-prescription medications. Our pharmacists have implemented the Pharmacist Managed Anti-Coagulation Clinic (PMAC) for patients taking warfarin therapy. Additionally, they are involved in the chronic disease management programs offered by New Vision, including diabetes, mental health and cardiovascular disease prevention and management.

Our Clinical Pharmacists are affiliated with the new University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy and will be taking a new co-op student every four months. Family Health Teams are a new and exciting practice experience for pharmacists, and Colleen and Brett enjoy teaching students about this exceptional area of healthcare.

When not at New Vision, they both work at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Colleen in the Intensive Care Unit and Brett in the Acute Care Observation Unit.

If you wish to speak to one of our pharmacists, please speak to the Front Reception staff to book an appointment.
