In line with New Vision’s mission for providing high-quality family centered care in a multi-disciplinary approach, we have developed partnerships with a variety of educational institutions. Drs. Mel Cescon, John Pope and Karen Cameron have part-time faculty appointments with McMaster University. All of our physicians and Inter-professional health providers play a role in teaching and student support.
In addition to family practice medical residents, New Vision is also involved in the training of medical students from McMaster, Western and Toronto Faculties of Medicine.
Working with students and residents provides many opportunities. Your physicians are challenged by bright young eager minds who are aware of the most recent guidelines for medical care. They in turn see medical practice as done by a physician with years of experience in the art of medicine. Working together, with our patients, we hope to provide the best possible care. An added bonus of our affiliation with students is that they often return to the community and to the organization where they were taught. Dr. Karen Cameron, Dr. Martin Kane and Dr. Yidersal Gebeyehu were once students here. Each of them have become valued colleagues.
We assure you that no one is required to see one of our students without physician review. Nevertheless we trust that you will welcome and accept students and resident physicians to your Family Health Team.
