Travel Immunization

When travelling, you may be at risk for a number of illnesses that can be prevented by vaccination. As you age, your vaccine-acquired protection against many illnesses may decrease. Your risk of getting certain diseases may also increase.

Additional immunizations are available to prepare for travel to a foreign country. Please visit our local Public Health website or visit the Public Health Agency of Canada if you have questions about these immunizations. Keep your family's vaccination records in a safe and accessible place and carry copies when you travel.

Travel advice and travel immunization and vaccines are not services covered by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. There is a  fee for this service. New Vision is not a travel medicine clinic, and we typically recommend our patients visit a Travel Medicine Clinic for the most basic to most advanced travel needs. However, we do realize due to the costs at a Travel Medicine Clinic, or preference for seeing your own family doctor, that you may decide to seek advice from us. If this is the case, please click here to see what New Vision can offer in regards to basic travel medicine advice and immunization.
