Vaccination Recommendation by Age and Group:
Infants (6-11 months)
- One dose of measles vaccine is recommended if there is a risk of exposure.
- Still require two additional doses after turning one year old.
Children (1-4 years old)
- Should receive two doses in total.
- If only one dose have been given, a second dose should be given as soon as possible (minimum 4 weeks after the first).
Individuals born in 1970 or later
- Should have at least one dose of measles vaccine.
- Two doses are recommended for international travellers and post-secondary students.
Individuals born before 1970
- Generally considered immune due to natural exposure.
- One dose recommended for international travellers and post-secondary students.
Health Care Workers and Military Personnel
- Two doses recommended, regardless of birth year (or laboratory evidence of measles immunity).
