New Vision has partnered with surrounding Family Health Teams to be able to offer more workshop availability.

Emotional First Aid (4-week series): This is a 4-week psycho-educational and skills group based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. This group is for individuals who experience their emotions (anxiety, sadness, anger, etc.) with high intensity. If intense emotions interfere with daily life or feel out of control, learning these coping skills will help to manage those emotions.

Anxiety & COVID (2022 Edition, 4-week series): This is a 4-week psycho-educational group for individuals experiencing heightened anxiety in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics covered in this group include mindfulness and self-care, education on what anxiety is, and skills to get you through high anxiety moments, challenging cognitive distortions, and radical acceptance.

Strategies for Better Sleep (3-week series): This is a 3-week psycho-educational group based on CBT-I for individuals who have difficulties ranging from falling asleep or staying asleep, to chronic insomnia. This group uses behavioural and practical methods to help improve these sleep challenges.

Need help with ZOOM?

The Bits and Bytes Computer Club members at the Kitchener Downtown Community Centre have been providing free digital tech training for seniors (Zoom for Beginners) over the past twenty months. The City of Kitchener was also granted funding to add to this service to supply free digital loaner iPads and Chrome Books and more free programming.
