Beyond the Scale
In this 1-hour workshop, facilitated by a Registered Dietitian, you will learn about lifestyle recommendations for maintaining a healthy weight. We will discuss healthy body image and suggestions for nutrition and exercise goals for sustainable change.
Craving Change (4-week session)
This 4-week "how-to" workshop series focuses on helping you change your relationship with food. Understand WHY you eat the way you do, comfort yourself without food, change your thinking, change your eating. This 2-hour, 4 week workshop series takes place at New Vision, but registration is completed through the Waterloo-Wellington Self-Management Program.
Building Resiliency
Resilience is a mindset and process that allows us to adapt to life’s challenges and manage adversity with increased mental, emotional, and physical flexibility. In this 1.5 hour in-person workshop, led by one of our Social Workers, we will explore what resiliency means and ways to achieve increased resilience in everyday life.

In this 2-hour workshop, led by our Social Worker, you will learn about anxiety as a normal function of our nervous system and how to shift your approach to anxiety through mindfulness, self-compassion, and practical techniques that can help reduce its intensity.
Walk and Talk
Looking to boost your energy? Do you want to be more active but have difficulty getting started? Do you enjoy walking? If yes, join our Walk and Talk Wellness Group!
The purpose of this group is to provide a supported exercise and activation program for people who may be isolated, coping with mental health or other chronic health conditions. The educational component will incorporate mindfulness, stress management strategies, nutrition information and social support. Our hope is to enhance lifestyle change and get people moving for physical and mental health! Walk at your own pace. Everyone is welcome!
A waiver form will be required prior to joining the group. These in-person sessions are held at the Waterloo Rec Complex located at 101 Father David Bauer Drive in Waterloo.

Community Programs
- Waterloo-Wellington Self-Management Programs offers a variety of workshops (available online or in-person) to support you with getting the most out of life while living with a chronic condition. The following programs are offered for FREE in the region of Waterloo Wellington.
- YMCA of Three Rivers have a variety of community health management programs and workshops (in-person and virtual).
- Breastfeeding Buddies of Waterloo offer a variety of community based peer support program aims to bridge the gap between hospital, community, and home (in-person and virtual).
- Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Self Help & Peer Support services are provided by people who experience a mental health and/or addiction issue for people who experience a mental health and/or addictions issue.
